In my opinion, the Photographic Competition at Crowcombe youth hostel is one of the nicest weekends in the year. Nicer still when the weather is friendly as it was this time. Five Torbay members, including John Babbage, cycled via the Teign Valley and Longdown to Exeter and lunch at Jean Luxton’s house in Stoke Canon. Jean and Wendy Luxton and Jean Brierly made up the group after lunch.

From Stoke Canon we sped up the Exe valley through Tiverton and Bampton and on to Wiveliscombe where we turned into the lanes for the final few miles to Crowcombe, where we were greeted by Don Hassall and a pot of his tea. Well done Richard and Matthew.
