Dartington Hall
Sun, 05 Oct 1980
On hands and knees in Dartington Hall’s gardens, the riders gleefully hunted for beech nuts between strolls and rolling on the lawns. An early dash to Buckfastleigh for the raft race proved futile—it had finished before they arrived.

Start Point
Sun, 30 Nov 1980
Icy spills on a bend set the tone for a frigid, careful ride: lunch in a sunny nook, destination abandoned in a brutal headwind, extra layers at sunset. Back in town, a T‑shirt huddle at Mike’s and Kodachrome slides brought the warmth.
